Director/Writer Samir Mehanović, was Born in
Tuzla , Bosnia1969 , and he started his career working with actors in JLS Avant-garde Theatre, which he established in1992 during the war in Bosnia. Based in Scotland since1995 he continued his theatre work before successfully transferring his communication skills, knowledge and experience to film making.For his latest short film The Way We Played he has won BAFTA and the film was screened over thirty festivals including Cannes, Palm Springs, Edinburgh (EIFF) and Encounters Short Film Festival.Work Experience

2007/2008 - Created feature length documentary 'Richard and I'-When Richard invites Samir to perform at the Edinburgh Festival in 1995, he escapes the bomb in Bosnia that kills 71 young people... Fly on the wall documentary: a complex portrait of a complex man, Richard Demarco, through the eyes of his protégé Samir Mehanovic at Edinburgh Festival and Venice Biennale.
