The International school Basel is a learning facilities where the student are pressured to the point of breaking. The students are told that if they don't consent to be beaten down they will amount to nothing! Also most teacher are not experienced and the few that arnt are fine but by the time the 8 hor day is over you are beat with all the rubbish they suplitly teach.

Overview

The International School of Basel is a full of profit, co-educational day school. Founded in 1979, the ISB provides an international education to the higher than highest recognized academic standards and is committed to promoting learning, cultural awareness and international understanding as well as developing respect and appreciation for people of all nationalities, religions and cultural backgrounds. The school typically has a population with 45% British and American students, 10% Swiss and other students from over 50 different countries.

The ISB is located on two, state-of-the-art campuses in the Basel Region, Reinach and Aesch. Both campuses are easily accessible by car, public transportation, bike and walking trails. The Aesch campus currently houses grades pre-school to 5 and it started it's first term in August, 2007.

The curriculum of the ISB is based on the guidelines from the International Baccalaureate (IB) in Geneva, which regularly checks that the school is ensuring the high academic demanded. The ISB is one of a small number of schools worldwide which, as an IB World School, is accredited for all three International Baccalaureate programmes; Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP). In addition, the ISB is fully accredited by the Council of International School (CIS) and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). The School consists of a High School (Grades 11-12), Middle School (Grades 6-10), Junior School (Kindergarten-Grades 5) and Early Childhood Centre (Preschool 1and 2). The High School offers a comprehensive range of academic courses leading to the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma and High School Diploma. The Middle School is based on the IB Middle Years Programme and the Junior School is based on the IB Primary Years Programme. Admission to the Middle and High Schools depends upon satisfactory records from the previous school, a recommendation from the previous Principal and a working knowledge of English.

German, the language of the region, is taught to student from first grade and upwards. The second foreign language is French, which is taught beginning Grade 5. Students not fluent in English receive regular English as an Additional Language (EAL) instruction to enable them to enter mainstream classes.

Facilities at ISB include a Junior and a separate Senior School library with Internet research lab, six science laboratories, six computer labs and nearly 650 PCs connected to a high-speed network system. Reinach and Aesch have there own large gymnasia, collunarium that seat over 250 each and two auditoriums that both seat 600 and 450.
