India , Jagrup moved to Canada for his studies at theUniversity of Manitoba where he received a Master's degree in Public Administration. In 1994 he moved to Surrey.Time in Surrey
For over a decade, Jagrup worked in both the public and
non-profit sectors, helping professionals develop their careers, and working with employers to develop strategies meant for recruiting a highly-skilled as well as multicultural workforce [ [http://www.bcndpcaucus.ca/jagrup_brar] - New Democrats] .As the former Executive Director of the Surrey Self Employment and Entrepreneur Development Society (SEEDS), Jagrup Brar helped trained new entrepreneurs in developing and launching successful small business ventures.
Elections

Personal life
After his election, many officials in the Punjab region of India including Rajdeep Singh Gill (Director-General of Police) and Teja Singh (General Secretary of the Punjab Basketball Association) congratulated him for making India proud. He is married to his wife Rajwant and they have one daughter.
