It is a deeplake , well known amongst anglers, and holds a fewchar along withbrown trout .Water from Lough Owel feeds the Royal Canal, a canal crossing Ireland fromDublin to theRiver Shannon . Access to the lake can be gained from acarpark andpier to thesouth of the N4 Mullingar toLongford route.Lough Owel and
