This is a list of the top 300 Major League Baseball leaders in career saves. In the sport of
baseball , a "save" is a statistic credited to a pitcher who finishes a game for the winning team under certain prescribed circumstances. The number of saves, or percentage of save opportunities successfully completed, is an oft-cited statistic of relief pitchers. It first became an official Major League Baseball statistic in 1969.Trevor Hoffman holds theMajor League Baseball save record with 554. In second isMariano Rivera with 482. Lee Smith &John Franco are the only other pitchers that have recorded more than 400 saves.List
