- Rowan Ayers
Rowan Ayers (June 16, 1922 – January 5, 2008) was a former
television producer andpoet . He was best known as producer ofBBC 's "Line-Up" [ [http://www.bbc.co.uk/cult/classic/bbc2/article.shtml BBC - Cult - Classic TV - BBC Two at 40 ] ] and "Late Night Line-Up " in the 1960s. He was the originator of BBCs influential late night rock music show "Old Grey Whistle Test " and the long-running "Points of View ". He was also responsible for the BBC's "Open Door". Rowan launchedThe Beatles last recorded albumAbbey Road onLate Night Line Up , they honored him with the signed last memento of The Beatles from Maxwell's Silver Hammer.
