Ipswich Town F.C. season 2006-07

Ipswich Town F.C. season 2006-07

The 2006-07 season is the 62nd full season of league football for Ipswich Town F.C. They play in the Football League Championship.

Overview

Perhaps not the greatest of seasons for Town this year, but there are lots of positives coming out of it. They have lots of young players who can only get better, and a young rookie manager in Jim Magilton who is actually doing quite well, whilst building a steady side for the future.

Events

November 19th 2006 - Town defeat Norwich in the East Anglian derby, 3-1 through 2 Danny Haynes goals late on.

June 5th 2006 - Jim Magilton takes over as the replacement for Joe Royle.

April 28th 2007 - Ipswich manage a draw away from home against Leeds United which almost certainly sends "the Whites" into League one. The game was stopped half a minute early because of crowd trouble. The responsible Leeds fans were removed from the ground, before the referee, Nigel Miller controversially brought the teams back out to end the game. Ipswich held on to a draw, they could have possibly won the game, but the goal was ruled out for offside.
