Haiti near the town ofLes Cayes . Administratively it is part of theSud Department . It is about convert|8|mi|km long, convert|2|mi|km wide, with an area of convert|20|sqmi|km2. The western end of the island is up to convert|150|m|ft high and rolling with several smallswamp s in the valleys; while the eastern section is swampy, and has alagoon with one of the largestmangrove forests in Haiti.
