2006

DEMO2006

In February, 2006, Vivid Sky was invited to unveil the SkyBOX with 69 other emerging technology companies from around the world at DEMO2006. On the same stage that TiVo, Palm, E*TRADE, SalesForce.com and others unveiled their technologies a few years ago; Vivid Sky was met with a media response from around the world. ABC News, USA Today, Fortune, Nikkei, C|NET, PC Magazine, ZDNET, Inc Magazine, etc all wrote pieces on Vivid Sky and the SkyBOX. Because of this press and the DEMO unveiling, teams, sponsors, leagues, and fans contacted Vivid Sky to discuss tests and deployments. What this also brought was the opportunity to develop the SkyBOX Prototype without any outside investors through bootstrapped efforts and in-kind contributions. kyBOX Sneak Peek

In August 2006, Vivid Sky completed the SkyBOX Prototype and began testing through the SkyBOX Sneak Peek. These initial tests were conducted in conjunction with the St. Louis Cardinals, Gateway Grizzlies (Frontier League baseball club), Anheuser-Busch and hundreds of ecstatic fans in the SkyBOX “Sneak Peek”.

Fans at the Sneak Peek used Vivid Sky's SkyBOX devices and their personal devices to:

*Watch instant replays on-demand from four cameras
*View MLB stats and scoreboard activity from current games around the league
*View Player Bios and Stats from around the Frontier League
*Check real-time visual graphics showing precise hit locations and pitch locations
*Order concessions that were delivered directly to their location through our tracking service

2007

In June 2007, the Detroit Tigers officially invited Vivid Sky to deploy the SkyBOX Personal Sports Network in Comerica Park immediately following the MLB 2007 All-Star Game. They agreed to confine the deployment to the Corporate Suite environment (corporate suites, party suites, owners box, etc.) for their first year.For the past few years, the Detroit Tigers have wanted to create a system that allows their fans the opportunity to see video replays, check out statistics, view info-graphics that are generated from the team’s scouting system, and order concessions that could tie in to their current concession system. In the SkyBOX, they saw the realization to their wishes.The first phase of the Tigers’ deployment was the introduction of SkyBOX devices in their Chevrolet Champions Club starting on July 20, 2007. This area seats 185 of the Tigers’ elite guests along the third base line. Through the SkyBOX devices, fans are able to:
*View instant replays
*Access a litany of statistical information
*Check out their favorite players bios
*Scrutinize info-graphics
*Check scores from around the league in real-time

2008 SkyBOX Roll-out

In 2008, fans will be given the opportunity to use an iPod Touch or iPhone to access the SkyBOX at major sporting events. Vivid Sky will deliver the following content via the SkyBOX in its 2008 MLB Launch:

*Multi-camera instant replays and streaming video
*Real-time stats and player bios
*Info-graphics tied to the teams’ scouting systems showing precise hit and pitch locations
*Interactive scoreboards from around the league
*Concession ordering with delivery
*Merchandise and Authentic Memorabilia purchases
*Advanced player scouting including spray charts and hot/cold zones
*Team history and stadium information

Vivid Sky is running a trial deployment with the NHL's Detroit Red Wings. The 2008 NHL SkyBOX is the first SkyBOX developed on the Apple product line. The current agreement allows for Vivid Sky to test the SkyBOX throughout the entire 2007-2008 NHL season and into the playoffs.
