Paul Brasch

Paul Brasch (born 1964) is a stand-up comedian from Brisbane, Australia. He has appeared on "The Midday Show", "Hey Hey It's Saturday", The Comedy Channel's "Headliners", and various other television shows.

Brasch performed at The Melbourne International Comedy Festival, and has worked with Jimeoin, Steven Wright, John Cougar Mellencamp, and won the award for "Toughest Show" in 1999. "The Paul Brasch Comedy Hour" ran on Triple M Radio for four years and he has contributed articles for newspapers and magazines. He wrote and performed Late Night with Groucho.

He is name-checked in John Birmingham's Weapon's of Choice Trilogy possibly because Brasch was one of the original founders of stand up comedy in Brisbane and Birmingham himself is a Brisbanite. He collaborates occasionally with comics Chris Wainhouse and Davo on side projects. One of these projects was "Diablo" which was performed at the Adelaide Comedy Festival in 2006. "Diablo" was a show based on hate and had people walking out mid-performance. Brasch has been quoted as saying that some people are never meant to get some comedy or what would be the point.

Brasch tours extensively throughout Australia and overseas and is finishing his first novel, "Southern Cross". He is now based in Sydney, Australia and is currently working with Mark Patching on "Deputy Davo's Pig Squeezing Country and Western Comedy Show", a surreal comedy show for television that has been described as a children's show for everyone but children.
