Hugh Edward Thomasson, Jr. (born birth date|1952|08|13 [ [http://ssdi.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/ssdi.cgi] Social Security Death Index] in Tampa, Florida [ [http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/comment/obituaries/article2569036.ece] "The Sunday Times" Obituary] – died death date and age|2007|09|09|1952|08|13 in Brooksville, Florida) was an American guitarist and singer.

He wrote most of the songs for The Outlaws, including "Hurry Sundown", "There Goes Another Love Song," and "Green Grass and High Tides." After The Outlaws disbanded, Thomasson joined Lynyrd Skynyrd, leaving that band in 2005 to reform The Outlaws.
