I Won't Say (I'm in Love)

"I Won't Say (I'm in Love)" is the love theme of the 1997 Disney movie Hercules and was sung by Megara (voiced by Susan Egan) as the Muses do some "backup vocalizing". A pop version of the song is sung by Belinda Carlisle, from the movie Hercules, and by The Cheetah Girls, which was released on the album "Disneymania 3".

"I Won't Say (I'm in Love)" is a single release from Belinda Carlisle, that was released in 1997 in Germany and France. This version of the song is used in the ending credits for certain dubs of Hercules, in place of the encore of "A Star is Born". Strangely, it's on the VHS release of the Swedish dub, but not on the DVD release.

Belinda Carlisle shot a music video for the release of this song and to promote the Disney movie "Hercules". The video sees Belinda and others at a 1960s Drive-in cinema watching scenes from the film.

Music video

The music video consisted of The Cheetah Girls singing, laughing and making faces at the camera in a recording studio.

Disney's on the Record

In 2004, Disney Theatricals Department created a jukebox styled musical called, "Disney's on the Record". The national touring musical collaborated 70 years of Disney music into one 2-act show including the song "I Won't Say I'm In Love". However, the song was not performed with all of the lyrics (due to it was recorded as a 4 song session). This recording is different from the 1997-film version because "I Won't Say I'm In Love" is performed by a male, unlike the film version sung by a female, Susan Egan. The recording was sung by Andrew Samonsky (as the leading vocals) and a backup quartet (Meredith Inglesby, Andy Karl, Tyler Maynard, and Keewa Nurullah).

*This was the first song recorded by "The Cheetah Girls" that did not include Raven-Symoné.
*There was a remixed version of this song called "I Won't Say (GRRL Power Remix)" and was released as a single to Radio Disney only. It did not chart, and was included on DisneyRemixMania.'
*A web-based rumor appeared in July 2008 that stated that The Pussycat Dolls would be covering the track for an upcoming Disneymania compilation album.
