"The Phenomenon of Craving" is a six track EP from Californian hardcore punk band, Good Riddance. It was released on May 23 2000 on Fat Wreck Chords. It came after the release of "Operation Phoenix" in 1999, and was followed by their fifth full-length album, "Symptoms of a Leveling Spirit" in 2001. It features the same production crew as their previous album, but Sean Sellers – the drummer on the previous three albums – had departed and Dave Raun of label mates and fellow punk band, Lagwagon, filled in temporarily on tour as well as this EP. Sean Sellers returned to the line-up for 2006's "My Republic". The EP was also released by Fat Wreck Chords on limited edition 10" blue vinyl which has since gone out of print.

*The cover is a photograph of a homeless resident of Santa Cruz who was relatively well-known among those who frequented the main downtown area, Pacific Ave. He died circa 2004-2005.
