"Sæglópur" (Icelandic for "lost at sea") is a song by Sigur Rós, released in 2006 as a single from the 2005 album "Takk...". Parts of the song are in Icelandic, although a lengthy portion is in Hopelandic, a "language" of nonsense words selected by the band that sound similar to Icelandic.

Music video

The music video for the song track depicts the drowning of a young child, who is, towards the end of the video, rescued and, as in the "Glósóli" video, whether the child survives is left for the viewer to decide.

Use of the song

A part of Sæglópur was used by videogame developers Ubisoft Montreal, for their new Prince of Persia trailer on the E3 2008 event in Los Angeles on July 15 2008. Release history

Sæglópur was released three times in different formats

*Prior to the release of Takk... the song was made available as a download only single on the North-American iTunes store (2005). Glósóli was made available simultaneously on the European iTunes store.
*Japan Tour EP (2006). An enhanced CD, containing the Glósóli and Hoppípolla videos.
*CD/DVD double pack single (2006). The DVD featured the Glósóli, Hoppípolla and Sæglópur videos
