Hawaldar Shish Ram Gill (1961 – 1999),
Vir Chakra , was in 8thJat Regiment of theIndian Army . He was born at village Vishanpura (Brahman ki dhani) inJhunjhunu district ofRajasthan inIndia . He was born to his father Shankara and mother Rajkauri but brought up by Sardara Ram and Suraji Devi as adopted son.As Hawaldar in 8th
Jat Regiment , he was driving away the Pakistani intruders inMushkoh valley duringKargil War on9 July 1999 . He had driven away the Pakistani intruders beyond theLine of Control and killed five intruders. Meanwhile he was attacked and killed on 9 July 1999. He was awarded the gallantry awardVir Chakra for his acts of bravery in theKargil War .His wife was Santara. He left behind two sons Vijay Singh (13) and Kailash Singh (9) along with a daughter Dimpal (7).
