Star Hearts Amateur Football Club are a
football (soccer) club from the village of Star nearGlenrothes inFife ,Scotland . Formed in1962 , they joined the Kirkcaldy and District League in1963 and won its second division at the first time of asking. They play their home games at Treaton Park.In
1973 they reached the final of theScottish Amateur Cup atHampden Park but were defeated 1-0 by Knockentiber. However, two years later in1975 they reached the final at Hampden again, and this time were successful in winning the cup by defeating Morriston YMCA by a 2-1 scoreline.They have won the Fife Amateur Cup a record 10 times, and between
1968 and1976 they reached 9 consecutive finals (recording 7 of their ten triumphs in that period). In1984 they were founder members of theKingdom Caledonian Football League , the league competition they still play in to this day.They are one of the most successful amateur sides to have ever come out of Fife with over 60 trophy wins.
Their main founder & former manager David Leitch was presented with the Merit Award for services to football at the Grassroots Awards at Hampden Park Glasgow on the 31st January 2008.The award was presented to him by Kenny Dalglish & George Burley.
