Linux -based alternative to popular programs such asFL Studio ,Cubase andLogic Pro .Music can be produced by creating/synthesizing sounds, arranging samples, and playing live with a MIDI keyboard.LMMS provides software synths and other plugins, presets for them and some essential samples. It combines the features of a tracker/sequencer program (pattern/channel/sample/song/effect management) and those of powerful synthesizers and samplers. In addition, almost all controls including instrument can be automated in the same way that modern mixing desks can automate fader movements. Integration with the
LADSPA effects system provides a large quantity of high-quality sound processing. LMMS transparently also supports VST plugins, both instruments and effects, through Wine.As of
September 9 ,2008 , version 0.4.0 RC1 is available for download and testing on both Windows and Linux. Version 0.4.0 is a rewrite of the older 0.3.2 that is compatible with the Qt 4 GUI, thus making it perfectly cross-platform compatible. However, as with all beta andcross-platform software, there are still a few bugs to be worked out.External links
