Scott Laird (born in May 15, 1988 in Taunton, England) is a defender currently playing for Stevenage Borough.

Despite being born in England he has chosen to represent Scotland as his nationality and play for the country at youth level recently being called up to the Scotland Under 19's squad.

Initially recognised as a centre-back who could also play at left-back, Laird has been moved into midfield by Argyle manager Ian Holloway and made his full debut in central midfield.

Biography

Laird began his career as a trainee with Plymouth Argyle, turning professional in July 2006. His first team debut came on August 14, 2007 in Plymouth's 2-1 League Cup win at home to Wycombe Wanderers.
