William Klein (born in New York, New York,
USA , onApril 19 ,1928 ) is aphotographer andfilmmaker . Though born inNew York City and educated at theCity College of New York , Klein is predominantly active inFrance . He has directed a number of feature films, including the 1966 film "Who Are You, Polly Magoo? " theCinéma vérité documentary "Grands soirs et petits matins" that observes the May 1968 events in France, and the satires "Mr. Freedom " and "Le Couple Témoin . Klein's photography won thePrix Nadar in 1956.Circa 1950, he married Jeanne Florian.
