David E. Bloom is an economist and demographer. He is currently the Clarence James Gamble Professor of Economics and Demography at Harvard University and director of its Program on the Global Demography of Aging. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. His work focuses on the effect of health and demography on economic development, particularly the demographic dividend.
