Aérocentre NC 1080

Aérocentre NC 1080

__NOTOC__The SNCA du Centre (Aérocentre) NC 1080 was a prototype single-seat carrier-borne fighter aircraft first flown on 29 July 1949. Development was discontinued following an unexplained accident on 10 April 1950, and the contest for which the design was intended was eventually rendered moot when the Aéronavale adopted the de Havilland Sea Venom in 1952.

The NC 1080 featured a modestly dihedral swept wing of 22.5° quarter-chord sweep, a cruciform tail and twin fuselage-mounted intakes for its 5000 lb st thrust Rolls-Royce Nene turbojet; armament was to have been three 30mm cannon.
