SNCA du Centre (Aérocentre) NC 1080 was a prototype single-seat carrier-borne fighter aircraft first flown on29 July 1949 . Development was discontinued following an unexplained accident on10 April 1950 , and the contest for which the design was intended was eventually rendered moot when theAéronavale adopted thede Havilland Sea Venom in 1952.The NC 1080 featured a modestly dihedral swept wing of 22.5° quarter-chord sweep, a cruciform tail and twin fuselage-mounted intakes for its 5000 lb st thrust
