Puruduwella, meaning "practice sand" in the
Sinhalese language , is a smallvillage inSri Lanka . It belongs to Mahawewa divisional secretariat inPuttalam District in North Western Province. There is river called Kadupiti Oya in one boundary of the village. There are also twobuddhist temples Pushparamaya and Subadraramaya in the village.One explanation for the village's name is that King Thaniyavallabha, who administered this district from
