Hostice

Hostice ( _hu. Gesztete) is a village and municipality in the Rimavská Sobota District of the Banská Bystrica Region of southern Slovakia.

History

In historical records the village was first mentioned in 1332 (1332 "Gezeche", 1350 "Geste" , 1431 "Gezthete"). It belonged to noble families Ratoldoy and Lórantfy. In the XVI century it had to pay tributes to Turks. From 1938 to 1945 it belonged to Hungary.
