Elected8 November 2005 with 48% of the vote, he took office9 January 2006 . At the time, he was a senior atRoland-Story High School . He plans to major in history when he enters college. In 2007 Sam successfully ran for re-election receiving 54% of the vote. He is ran for district 10 State Representative in Iowa but did not win the primary.
