Fred is an unincorporated community in southeastern Tyler County, Texas, United States.

Fred is approximately 34 miles north of Beaumont and is located in the Big Thicket.

The town has no traffic lights and 55 is the only city speed limit, except during school traffic hours. Fred is home to two convenience stores, Fred Grocery and the Lazy E, which has a deli. There are two Baptist churches and several other churches of various denominations. Fred has a health care clinic with a physician's assistant. The Warren Independent School District serves area students. School children attend Fred Elementary School until they reach sixth grade. They are then bussed to nearby Warren for junior high and high school. Little League Baseball is very popular with the youth in Fred. And in 2007, Warren ISD introduced a pee wee football league to include Fred children.
