Fabrice Tiozzo in 1996 and IBF Super Middleweight Title holderRoy Jones Jr later that year. Lucas won the WBC title from BritonGlenn Catley in 2001. He defended it three times before losing a controversial split decision toMarkus Beyer in Germany in April 2003. In August 2003, Beyer’s face was carved byDanny Green , and Beyer went on a long recuperation, while Lucas and Green were matched up for the WBC Interim title in Christmas week 2003.
