Māori Sidestep

Māori Sidestep

In rugby union, the Māori Sidestep is a move where the attacking player chooses to run directly at the defending player, when traditionally he would have tried to step around.

The name is largely a Tongue in cheek reference, which was popularised by All Black player Jonah Lomu's style of play.
