Aleksander Babakov is a
Russia n politician and deputy speaker of theDuma , the Russian state parliament. He was the leader ofRodina , apolitical party in Russia, for several months in 2006 and organised a merger between his party and theRussian Party of Life and theRussian Pensioners' Party . He is a StateDuma deputy and sits on the governing body of the party he helped found,Fair Russia . Between 2006 and 2007 he lead Fair Russia's faction in theDuma as the party leader,Sergei Mironov , served as speaker of theFederation Council of Russia .Babakov was born on the 8th February 1963 in
Kishinev ,Moldova . He was elected to the Russian StateDuma in 2003 and became party leader ofRodina in March 2006 following the surprise resignation ofDmitry Rogozin . He has extensive business interests in EasternUkraine and allegedly holdsRussia n, Swedish andIsraeli citizenship.He is married and has two children.
