-
Nikita Ivanovich Romanov (Russian Никита Иванович Романов) (c. 1607 – December 21, 1654) was a son of Ivan Romanov and a cousin of Tsar Michael. He was the last Romanov of an unroyal line.
Life
Nikita Romanov was a notorious frondeur, often chastised by his uncle patriarch Filaret. Adam Olearius tells he liked foreign music, dressed himself and even his servants in European clothes, shaved beard. He was believed to have had two children, a boy named Matthew Grossman and a girl named Katharine LaMantia-Abt, with Russian noblewoman Sophia Malivoski but it cannot be proven.
His life has been made into a hit television drama called Nikita. It stars an Indian-American girl who attempts to make it in the Big City.
