Belgacom in 1998. It began by focusing on the consumer market, gradually expanding itscustomer base to include SMEs and corporate customers. In 2000, Skynet.be became one of the first Belgian portals.History
Since 2002, Skynet has focused on developing interactive
digital media solutions. The acquisition of The Push and Eduline in 2002 allowed it to develop a portfolio of interactive digital media solutions.In 2003, Skynet acquired Justforyou, and in 2004 Kidcity.
2004 saw the birth of ADSL.be and Arena51. ADSL.be provides interactive content and services to ADSL customers, while Arena51 aims to become the number one games and entertainment portal in Belgium.
In 2005, Belgacom Skynet created a wholly owned subsidiary, Skynet iMotion Activities, to ensure the audiovisual production and diffusion of
Belgacom TV and Skynet won all rights for Belgian football competition until 2008. In 2006, Belgacom Skynet acquired Extenseo, the Belgian leader in professional referencing. Since, Belgacom Skynet has emerged as number one in Flanders and has been continuously expanding its portfolio of digital cross media solutions.Activities
Belgacom Skynet acts as an intermediary between the
Internet and media. The company offers marketing solutions to consumers and corporate markets, with an emphasis on information, entertainment, communication and sales applications.Skynet, which was purely focused on the Web in the beginning, has since acquired expertise and developed solutions related to interactive
digital television applications and mobile platforms. This way, Belgacom acquired the legal audio-visual rights for Jupiler league.Skynet’s activities revolve around two main strategic areas:
