Paul Milstein (born 1923) is an American real estate developer and philanthropist. He was on the
master list of Nixon political opponents .Born in New York City he attended
DeWitt Clinton High School and theNew York University School of Architecture. His father, Morris, founded Circle Floor Co. Inc. in 1919. AfterWorld War II , the business expanded into floor tile, acoustical ceilings and drywall construction.Paul Milstein became president in 1961. Under his leadership, Circle Floor installed the floors in such landmarks as
Rockefeller Center , theUnited Nations complex,LaGuardia Airport ,John F. Kennedy International Airport , theWorld Trade Center ,Lincoln Center andMadison Square Garden .He is currently a partner of
Milstein Properties along with his sonsHoward Milstein andEdward Milstein , and known for revitalizing underappreciated and run-down portions ofManhattan , NY with their developments, such as theDorchester Towers in theUpper West Side neighborhood.He was previously the CEO of
Emigrant Savings Bank , the largest privately owned bank in America.Philanthropy:
