Historical Significance

In the 1300's, this relatively autonomic community defended against invading Catholic forces under the control of an evil Cardinal warlord. James Byron Huggins's 2001 historical novel "Rora" [ISBN 1932458514] describes this event. The villagers are led by the heroic Joshua Gianavel to a bitter victory.
