Patrick Lavon Mahomes (born August 9, 1970 in Bryan, Texas) is a Major League Baseball pitcher who is currently a free agent. He played in the majors from by|1992 to by|2003 for the Minnesota Twins, Boston Red Sox, New York Mets, Texas Rangers, Chicago Cubs, and Pittsburgh Pirates. Mahomes began his career as a starting pitcher, but worked more as a reliever later on. He is primarily remembered for his dominance for the Mets at the end of the by|1999 baseball season when he went 8-0 and helped the Mets reach the playoffs.

In by|2006, Mahomes went 11-4 with a 3.87 ERA for the Long Island Ducks of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball

On August 24, by|2007 the Toronto Blue Jays signed him, but he became a free agent at the end of the season.

Mahomes currently pitches for the Sioux Falls Canaries in a Northern Independent League
