Britt William Reames (born August 19, 1973 in Seneca, South Carolina) is a pitcher for the Pittsburgh Pirates. He made his career debut in the major leagues for the St.Louis Cardinals in 2000. In that year he started seven games, managed a 2.88 ERA, and contributed to his team's World Series contention, giving up one run in 9.2 playoff innings.

Since then he has been on the Oakland Athletics, the Montreal Expos, and the Pittsburgh Pirates, always switching between the majors and the minors. On August 11 2006 he was called up by the pirates when Josh Sharpless went on the disabled list. On August 28 2006, he was designated for assignment.

Although Reames has been lauded for his gutty demeanor on the mound and his reputation as pitcher who could eat innings early in his career, it did not translate into success for him in the Major Leagues and he has yet to stick with a team for a long amount of time.

Once a hot minor league prospect, Reames anomalistically overcame his 5'11, 175 lb frame with an impressive fastball, earning him his nickname "Hot Tomale." In an impressive 1996 season with single-A Peoria, Reames was named St. Louis Cardinals Minor League Pitcher of the Year when finished with 15 wins and a 1.90 ERA. However, he sat out the 1997 and 1998 seasons while he recovered from Tommy John surgery.

He was named the pitching coach at Furman University in South Carolina on July 24, 2008. He is scheduled to be a inductee of the Hall of Fame at The Citadel in November 2008.
