Armin Wiebe

Armin Wiebe

Armin Wiebe is a Canadian novelist of Mennonite descent born in Altona, Manitoba.

Wiebe has written numerous humorous novels about Mennonites including "The Salvation of Yasch Siemens". In 1984, he was shortlisted for the Stephen Leacock Award for Humour. His novel "Tatsea" won the McNally Robinson Book of the Year Award and the Margaret Laurence Award for Fiction. He has also written plays and short stories.

Wiebe holds degrees from the University of Manitoba and the University of Winnipeg and currently teaches creative writing at Red River College in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
