Saša Petricic is a
Canadian journalist . He is currently a correspondent and videojournalist forCBC Television 's "The National ". He is based inOttawa but has filed news stories and documentaries from every continent during his career. He covered the 2004 Tsunami from Thailand and Indonesia, the aftermath of the Rwanda genocide, Fidel Castro in Cuba and issues surrounding climate change in Australia. He has also reported on the war in Afghanistan. In 2007, he was the first CBC journalist to visit and cover Antarctica, spending time aboard the Argentinian icebreaker Almirante Irizar, as well as visiting numerous scientific bases. As a videojournalist, he reports, writes, shoots and edits his own stories and documentaries, bringing a unique visual style and personal perspective.From 1993 to 2001, Petricic covered federal politics and political issues from the Canadian Parliament in Ottawa.
