August 23 1934 , inRio de Janeiro, Brazil ) a renownedtrombonist who was asession musician for several notable artists, includingSergio Mendez ,Flora Purim ,Airto Moreira ,Milton Nascimento ,Sonny Rollins ,Cal Tjader and the jazz/fusion band Caldera.American composer and pianist
George Duke , was brought in to produce de Souza's first and second releases "Sweet Lucy " and "Don't Ask My Neighbors ". In 1979, de Souza released "'Til Tomorrow Comes ", anArthur Wright production. The recording was completely devoid of anyjazz , and was an effort to jump aboard thedisco bandwagon. The album was poorly received and it was his last for Capitol, after which he faded into obscurity."Colors" is available on CD as part of the Original Jazz Classics series from
