- Papanack Park Zoo
The Papanack Park Zoo is a small zoo in Wendover,
Ontario . It opened to a the public in 1994 for a one year trial. It started as a family owned and operated facility breedingexotic animal s and birds in the early 1980’s.It hosts 36 different species, including
snow monkey s,cougar s,snow leopard and whitelion cubs. These cubs are the albino offspring of the zoo's African lions although they did not stay white as they grew. They also have fourwhite tiger s including a stripeless tiger namedVenus . The zoo is approximately a 25-minute drive fromCanada 's capital ofOttawa .A number of animals at the zoo have been shown in the children's show
Zaboomafoo , featuringChris Kratt andMartin Kratt . In addition, anAfrican lion named Simba was a model for production sketches of the main character used inDisney 'sThe Lion King .The Papanack Park Zoo is involved in a National and international breeding program for further conservation of certain endangered species like the
