Athletics
Wauconda competes in the North Suburban Conference/Prairie Division and
Illinois High School Association . Its mascot is theBulldog . In the past few years, Wauconda's athetic programs have been on the rise. The 2007-2008 Varsity Football team qualified for the State finals, which is phenomenal considering tough seasons the football team faced in previous years. Wauconda also has a basketball program which is supported by Purple Crush, a fan group imitating the University of Illinois' Orange Krush. The Pom/Dance team and Cheerleading squad have each qualified for Sectionals and State in the past four years. The cheerleading team has placed in the top 8 each year that they have qualified. The Girls Volleyball team became Co-Division Champions in 2005.Activities
