2005 NFL season , Thomas played with a constantly worseningherniated lumbar disc , and after ten games that year, was placed on the injured reserve list because of it. Surgery corrected the condition, and Thomas recovered in time for the 2006 season.Name changes
Prior to the
2006 NFL season , Thomas was referred to as "Tra". Tra was a nickname noting he was William Thomas III. He had requested starting with the 2006 season, to be called William Thomas. In theRay Rhodes years, another William Thomas was a Pro Bowl linebacker for the Eagles.In April 2008, it was revealed that he was switching back to Tra Thomas with many people failing to call him William.
