The Rare Breeds Survival Trust (RBST) is a conservation charity whose purpose is to secure the continued existence and viability of the United Kingdom’s native farm animal genetic resources (FAnGR).
It maintains a watch list of the United Kingdom's rarest breeds of cattle, sheep, pigs, horses, goats and poultry, [ [http://www.rbst.org.uk/watch-list/main.php Rare Breeds Survival Trust watch list] accessed 21st May 2008] and an approved list of farm parks.][ [http://www.rbst.org.uk/approved-farmparks/main.php Rare Breeds Survival Trust approved farm parks] accessed 21st May 2008] ]Projects have included the collection of genetic material to ensure the future of rare breeds in a farm animal "gene bank".
