ska punk/core band from the southern county ofSurrey , in theUnited Kingdom .Biography
Formed in
1999 , Fandangle have been on the scene for many years now and have established themselves as aDIY outfit. They can't really be classified as one genre of ska because there are many different influences which are prevalent throughout their songs. Some people have described them as "Less Than Jake with more of an edge" and others have said they are more like "MxPx with brass and catchier melodies". Breaking into the london scene they scored numerous supports slots at high profile venues for bands such asReel Big Fish , Less Than Jake,Mustard Plug ,Big D and the Kids Table , Capdown, The Selecter,The Pietasters , The Toasters, King Prawn, Spunge and many more.Their debut EP (Dodging Tomatoes 1999) was recorded when they were at the age of 14 and landed them numerous support slots at The Underworld in London. Three years later 'The Alcoholic' EP was released and this enabled the band to travel around the country and play shows to different crowds. The follow up was 'The Emperor Still Wears No Clothes' (2004), with tracks such as 'Destination Tragedy' earning airplay on Xfm's Unsigned radio show. Their debut album on Party House Records had 1,000 copies pressed, but they sold quite quickly. Desperate to release more material Fandangle went back into the studio and released two more EPs in 2004, 'Full Steam Ahead', and the 'Private Show'. The Private Show EP has sold more than 5,000 copies since its release.. In 2005, in time for their tour with Reel Big Fish, they released the 'Take One For The Team EP' on ska label Moon Ska Europe. In the summer of 2005 Fandangle released a 3 track EP called 'Back To Basics', with over 1000 copies of this EP was sold in the first week of its release. The new EP 'Blackout' is out now and is the latest release on Party House Records.
Fandangle are currently signed to DIY punk/ska label, Party House Records.
