Alan Foster (footballer)

Alan Foster was an English footballer in the pre-WWI 20th Century, a successful player at Reading F.C., he was remembered for his hat-trick scored against Italian giants AC Milan in the clubs 5-0 victory. The result prompted the leading Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera to report that "without doubt, Reading FC are the finest foreign team seen in Italy". Along with a lot of his other team mates, Foster fought in WWI where he was killed in action, along with another Reading player Joe Dickenson.
