Charlie Parker tribute band formed byMed Flory andBuddy Clark that debuted in 1972. Their music was comprised of harmonized arrangements ofCharlie Parker ’s music played by asaxophone section (2 altos, 2 tenors, and a baritone), rhythm section, and abrass instrument (trombone ortrumpet ). Notable brass soloists that recorded with the group includedConte Candoli (trumpet),Frank Rosolino (trombone) andCarl Fontana (trombone).The great
Warne Marsh was a member in the first edition of the group, and although he was never given freedom to solo on any officially released materials,Lee Konitz has stated that there are bootleg tapes of the group where Warne solos.They won the
