She is best known as the little girl who played the title role in the NBC made-for-television movie "Heidi", which aired on
November 17 1968 , and interrupted a broadcast of a regular-season professional football game between the Oakland Raiders and New York Jets. The Jets had just gone ahead, 32-29, when the telecast was stopped and the movie played. The Raiders scored two touchdowns in the final two minutes to win the game. Irate football fans had to make do with a scrolling update of the final score during the broadcast of Heidi. Since then, all nationally-televised professional football games are shown in their entirety. The incident earned the soubriquet The Heidi Bowl.Family
She is the daughter of noted filmmaker
