- San Agustín del Guadalix
San Agustín del Guadalix is a town in Spain, located in the north of the Comunidad de Madrid near to the Sierra del Guadarrama.
It is bordered by
Pedrezuela to the north, the municipalities of El Molar and Algete to the East andColmenar Viejo to the south and West. The history of the town is unclear but it appears to have been settled by Iberians in the pre-Christian era. Proximity to Madrid has led to its popularity as a commuter base with the result that its population has more than tripled in the last 20 years rising from 2,459 inhabitants to over 9000 in the year 2006. Furthermore the traditional industries of agriculture and livestock have been superseded by more heavy industry.
The main festival takes place the third Sunday of May in honour of the Virgin of Navalazarza.
