Power By The Hour is a registered trade name owned by Rolls-Royce plc.The corporation produces power systems (especially gas turbines) for applications on land sea and in the air; and for civil andmilitary operators.The Power By The Hour program is an after-sale fleet support option that provides:

  • Line Maintenance Replacement Parts
  • Scheduled and Unscheduled Engine Maintenance
  • Life Limited Part Replacement
  • Incorporation of Service Bulletin Requirements
  • Availability of Unit Exchange Line Replaceable Units
  • Continuous Spare Parts Replenishment

Fixed cost maintenance: Power By The Hour

The key feature of the program is that it undertakes to provide the operator with a fixed engine maintenance cost over an extended period of time. Operators are assured of an accurate cost projection and avoid the costs associated with unscheduled maintenance actions.

The Power By The Hour program is an available option for operators of several aircraft engines manufactured by Roll-RoyceCorporation.

In 2005, the US Navy praised highly Rolls-Royce for services provided as part of the Power By The hour program. Captain Win Everett,Program Manager for the US Navy’s Undergraduate Flight Training Systems at Patuxent River, Maryland referring to support for the F405 engine on the T-45 Goshawk training aircraft said: "Under Rolls-Royce, engine availability has exceeded the current target of 85 percent, the average time between engine removals has increased from 700 hours to over 900 hours and expected engine removals havefallen by 15 per cent."
