Rogue Wave (company)

Rogue Wave Software is a software vendor that has been creating tools for developers for nearly 20 years. The company was founded in 1989 in Seattle, Washington, then moved to Corvallis, Oregon in 1990 and is now based in Boulder, Colorado. In November 1996, they had an Initial Public Offering (NASDAQ:RWAV). In 2003, they were acquired by Quovadx, Inc (NASDAQ:QVDX), which was in turn acquired by private equity firm Battery Ventures in July 2007. Rogue Wave Software is now an independent company again.

They were initially well known for producing a popular C++ class library called tools.h++, which predated the Standard Template Library. They are most well known for both tools.h++ as well as dbtools.h++. The ".h++" products were combined in 2001 into the product family SourcePro C++. They now have a suite of high performance Service Oriented Architecture related products and services based on the Service Component Architecture and Service Data Objects specifications, with an emphasis on C++ implementations of SCA and SDO.

Rogue Wave is a contributing member of OASIS (organization) and the Open SOA Collaboration.
