Pinyin : Yìnsì;Wade-Giles : Yin-ssu; restyled as Yunsi (允禩) to avoid offending the holiness ofEmperor Yongzheng 's name; Akina after losing his peerage title) (March 29 ,1681 -October 5 ,1726 ) was born to Emperor Kangxi andLiang Fei of the Wei family in1681 , and was the Eighth Imperial Prince.After Emperor Yongzheng's succession to the imperial throne in
1722 , Yinsi was appointed one of his four chief advisors and was given the peerage titlePrince Lian (廉親王). However, having been a serious contender for the Crown Prince during the era ofKangxi , Yinse soon found himself a subject of mistrust for the then recently crowned emperor. In1726 , he suffered the indignity of being expelled from the imperial household following a series of unjust accusations of incompetence made by the emperor himself. In the same year, he was ordered to rename himself Akina (阿其那) ("dog") when he fell from the emperor's grace. Yinsi died of illness in custody after being found guilty on 40 counts which allegedly endangered the ruling of theQing Dynasty .
