The municipality lies on the western slope of Mount Lindenberg, near the
Reuss River . The main village and many numerous hamlets belong to the municipality. The largest of the hamlets are Gibelflüh (elev. 499m, 2.5km east of the village), Gerlingen (elev. 476m, 1.1km south-east of the village), Wald (elev. 475m, 2.5km south-east of the village), and Wissenwegen (2.1km east).
